Product Description
Cocoon swaddling with the Woombie is different from other swaddling methods and garments because it is made of a unique 4way stretch fabric which gently swaddles, snuggles and softly compresses the baby to mimic the womb, quickly re-conforming after baby finishes stretching arms and legs. The Woombie does not unravel as other methods do because of its flexible 4way stretch fabric and easy in/out zipper. This helps maintain the comfort levels of both baby and parent,… More >>

I loved the woombie and so did my son; however, the zipper failed within 2 months and the company wasn’t able to replace it. To be fair, they did offer me a pink woombie; however, pink is less than ideal for my son.

This did NOT work for my daughter. She got really upset as soon as we put it on her. She was four weeks old when we first tried it and we’ve tried periodically in the 4 months since then. She’s never kept it on for more than a few minutes.
Swaddling her in large, homemade fleece blankets is what works for us this winter.

We’ve used the swaddleme for both of our children, and swear by it. The woombie is nice, but we prefer the swaddleme. Our daughter seems to be able to move a bit more in the woombie and wake up a bit sooner. On the other hand, I tend to not get the swaddleme fastened tight enough. The woombie is a bit more goof-proof. The woombie is also made of a thin knit, so it’s not as warm as the microfleece swaddleme. We tend to use the woombie for naps and the swaddleme at night when we want to make sure she stays asleep!

Our 3 month old is 12.5 pounds so we got the “big baby” size that starts at 14 pounds (some places say 14 pounds, and some say 11- another problem I have with it). She can’t escape from this swaddle, it’s true, but it leaves her so much space for her arms to move around, she works herself into a frenzy. Sizing is key for this product. She isn’t securely held in, so she can never settle and only fights it. Maybe she’ll grow into it, so I will keep it around, but I already washed it, so right now I have an expensive dud that I can’t return.

I ordered the Woombie for my 2 month old, after she grew out of our former favorite, unescapable swaddling blanket: the swaddlepod.
I balked at the price, but was left with few other options for our little escape artist. When the product arrived, the zipper was really tough, and by the second use, it had broken, where the zipper wouldn’t stay up. I e-mailed customer service at Woombie and got an almost immediate response. I sent pics and a little video demonstrating the problem and I was promptly sent a new woombie.
The one they sent me was better than the model Amazon sold me. I’m wondering if there’s a new model out there. The huge difference was that the zipper was just like the swaddle pod one, where the bottom also opens for diaper changes. Very essential. They also changed the top closure to velcro instead of a snap, which is easier to open and close as well.
If you’ve got a larger baby who gets out of all other swaddle wraps (we tried them all except the miracle blanket, which I also hear is good), then this is a good choice for you!
