What can I say? This cotton sateen duvet set is the BEST! I have purchased the Amazon-Pinzon brand before, in the form of Calif. King sheet sets, and they all have been very well made. There was no hesitation in trying the Egyptian Cotton Sateen King Duvet Set. The 400 thread count makes the fabric so smooth and luxurious to touch, and the color of eggshell is very attractive with the bedroom furniture, and the look can be changed around with assorted accessories. The fit of the duvet and two shams is perfect with my feather comforter and king-size pillows, and the extra two inch flange of fabric finished around the edges adds to the beauty and size. By the way, the workmanship is superb. Have not washed the set yet, but feel that the pieces will hold up, look just as bright as before, and not shrink or look rumpled. A 5-star recommendation on this item!

Through the Amazon Vine Program, I received 2 sets of Pinzon Egyptian Cotton Duvet Sets. One 440TC Sable colored one in a Queen size and this 400TC King sized set in the Eggshell color.
I was thrilled when I opened up the package to find that the color is exactly as it is on my monitor. I was a bit worried if the ‘eggshell’ would be too yellow for my taste but it is not. It’s a beautiful Ivory-White, very neutral in tone and not at all ‘yellow’.
Like the 440TC, this set washed beautifully, to my knowledge did NOT shrink at all as it fit my king sized duvets perfectly. Also like the 440TC, out of the package it had this beautiful glossy sheen to it that I loved but after washing, most of the sheen was gone. Although I LOVED the sheen, it still really looks beautiful with the classic faint stripes in the design, and gorgeous color. I did have to touch up the sides of the pillow shams a bit with a light iron because they came out a bit wrinkled out of the dryer but they have since stayed really nice on my bed despite us tossing them around and lounging on them.
Overall, this IS a really beautiful and well made set however, I think the current price of $60 for the King sized set would be a more fair price at $50 at regular price and maybe $40 or so on sale for a great deal simply because even with the SLIGHT difference in thread count, I CAN tell the difference between this 400TC set and the other Pinzon 440TC duvet set. This 400TC set is a bit less ‘crisp’ if you will and although VERY, VERY SLIGHT, it has less fabric weight and feel to it than the 440TC.
If you find this item on sale, you will not be sorry. Again, it IS beautiful and well made for the price however if you have the option of this 400TC or the 440TC in the same size, I’d opt for the Pinzon 440TC duvet sets. Even this slightest bit of difference makes all the difference to me but then I’m INCREDIBLY picky about my sheets and towels.

I never even removed the plastic from the sheet set. I was so disappointed that the color blush was not a soft pink color as I had hoped. It’s a very light peachy color and doesn’t work with linen white (beige) walls. I returned the sheet set to Amazon right away.

This is the 4th or 5th I have of these and they have always been above expectations.

I use duvets to change the look of my bedroom and to protect my down comforter. I don’t wash them nearly as much as I do sheets; the sheets are against my skin and get washed and changed weekly. The duvet is basically an “envelope” to contain the comforter. It doesn’t get anywhere near my skin like sheets do.
That fact alone is one reason why the wrinkle factor of this duvet doesn’t bother me. I have other Pinzon bed products, like sheet sets, and yes, they do wrinkle. I find it more than manageable with a dryer sheet and a low, wrinkle-free setting.
I’m not anal enough to iron sheets (people really do that?), but a wrinkled duvet cover, because it’s the covering on the bed, WOULD bother me. But since I don’t wash duvet covers very often, it’s not much of a chore to touch it up with an iron (really. It’s not.)
Like others, I found the full-queen size a little tight on my down comforter. It sort of “flattens” out, though, and it’s not unsightly or too confining for the bed. If you have a very high-loft comforter, or one that is one the large size of full-queen, you might have issues with this particular brand. The shams fit my down pillows well.
Otherwise, the eggshell is a lovely, warm color, perfect for a clean, tranquil look for a bedroom. The fabric is substantial, with a wonderful feel to it.
With the caveats above, I recommend this set for the value and the price.
