I thought the insert will filter the oil as you pour into the canister, but there is no vent hole so if you pour it into can with the metal filter, it will cover all the holes and then nothing will fall in.

I dont use this as a grease dispenser but as a backpacking. This product is great. I cut the handle off and bought a pot lifter, also use the strainer to strain noodles and everything else. Very light weight and very durable

I love just being able to drain the grease into the container and when the container is full I run hot water around the out side of it and the grease will slip right out into the trash but it’s solid and not liquidy so I don’t have to worry about it leaking all over.
